The Shepherds’ Play
Sunday, December 14, 4:00 p.m.
Rudolf Steiner Community Center
The magic of Christmas will come alive as the Rudolf Steiner Community Center hosts the annual Shepherds Play, a heartwarming traditional Nativity play for children and adults, performed by an all-volunteer cast, weaving together medieval story telling with contemporary community theater! This experience will impart renewed hope and treasured peace during the holiday season.
This is an in-person event for adults and children four years of age and older. All are welcome.
The Twelve Nights of Christmas in Los Angeles
Background to the Gospel of St Mark
December 26, 2025 – January 6, 2026, 7:00 p.m.
This year we will be reading 12 of the 13 lectures entitled Background to the Gospel of St. Mark, given by Rudolf Steiner in 1910 and 1911 in various cities (CW124), beginning with Lecture 2, at various homes in our community. The following dates are of readings together. Please call to let hosts know that you will be attending when meetings are in private homes, and for addresses. We need additional hosts to volunteer for December 29, 31, January 2 and 5 in Los Angeles. Call Linda Connell, 818-546-1440, and we will publish that information in the reminder. There are no readings on dates not listed. No charge for attending.

Orange County reading Rudolf Steiner’s Background to Mark
We very much welcome you to join us in celebrating the wondrous 12 Holy Nights December 26 through January 6 in Orange County. This is our 42nd season since we began in 1983 to experience these profound evenings together, meeting in each other’s homes.
Rudolf Steiner’s cycle of the Background to the Gospel of St. Mark lectures is simply astounding for the breadth and depth of spiritual knowledge presented. With cosmic forces and cosmic connections part of this greatest drama in history, Steiner wanted these lectures to provide a new understanding of the events in Palestine and the significance of the Christ Event without which he said, “no further cultural progress can be made”
Through these profound lectures the human soul can rise to an understanding of wonderful mysteries of cosmic happenings. “Such concepts are nourishment to the soul, helping us gradually to develop and rise to regions where we can more fully understand spiritual truths.”
